The one major concern NASCAR should have with its testing policy is how teams are going to develop drivers. Joey Logano, Max Papis and Scott Speed are among the drivers who would benefit from testing. The fact that they won't be able to test next year and then will attempt Cup races puts them at a major disadvantage considering they might never have seen the tracks they are competing on until they get there for the start of practice on race weekend. Not only does it put them at a competitive disadvantage, but especially for new drivers in the Nationwide and Truck series, this could be considered a safety issue. NASCAR needs to look at maybe having a rookie practice sometime during the race weekend. Or maybe having some special rookie tests during the year. The future of the sport depends on teams' survival. And in that way, the suspension of testing is good. NASCAR can't just let it impact the future talent of the sport and the growth of the stars of tomorrow.
