I collected baseball cards as a kid. I still do ....somewhat. But my favorite cards/collection, were taken by an man named Charles Conlon. I went to
a collectors fair a few years ago...saw a Shoeless Joe card, and have been hooked ever since.
Charles Conlon worked for NY newspapers in the early 1900's. It really all began in 1909 when he snapped a picture of Ty Cobb sliding into second base.

And it ended with him being probably the greatest baseball photographer of all time. His career spanned from 1902-1942. His collections house some 8,000 photos. Some were published as books, others as cards. Some are housed on sites as big as Sporting News.
All the greatest of the greats....from Ruth to Gehrig.....in candid shots that are breathless to look at.
I will post some of his photos..and some of the cards. The reason I love the cards so much...one...it's just cool to have a Babe Ruth baseball card, and two.....there is much history to read on the back of that card. If you love baseball history, check it out. It's one of my passions.

and the cards themselves, many that I have and cherish.

all of these I have...I have about 200 total I think.
And you can get them anywhere online or on ebay.
So there you have my addiction.
