LeBron to Fans: Stop Whining About Chalupa (http://nba.fanhouse.com/2008/11/17/lebron-to-fans-stop-whining-about-chalupas/)

Dang Cleveland, haven't you heard LeBron James (http://nba.fanhouse.com/tag/LeBronJames/) will be a free agent in 2010? A citizenry in such danger should be littering The Chosen One's path with rose petals and cheering his missed free throws, sneezes, turnovers and bathroom breaks. LeBron is the soul and salvation of your town. Stop making him mad.

What has upset King James, you ask? Brian Windhorst of the Akron Beacon Journal Cleveland Plain Dealer knows (http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2008/11/brian_windhorsts_cavs_blog_cav.html).

Before the game some reporters were making small talk in the locker room and LeBron said he was still a little upset about being booed the other night when he dribbled the shot clock out in the last few seconds when the Cavs had 99 points against the Bucks. 100 would've meant free Chalupas, which really seems to fire up the crowd no matter what else is going on. Truth is Mike Brown told LeBron to dribble it out. [...]

LeBron said "I can't believe people who buy season tickets get worked up over a g-- d--- $1 (blank) taco."I have been a part of many Chalupa-begging crowds in my time. But in Sacramento and Oakland, I can't recall the home team being booed for dribbling the ball out ... because those home teams would never dribble the ball out with tacos on the line! Mike Brown (http://nba.fanhouse.com/tag/MikeBrown/), why do you hate Cleveland so much?

This isn't a matter of sportsman decorum. The visiting Bucks understand. I mean, honestly -- you think a team from Milwaukee doesn't understand the explosive mood shifts of a hungry fan base? Everyone's at fault here: LeBron should never get booed in his hometown (lest he, I don't know, murder a kitten) and Brown should not be so stingy with the Chalupas. Compromise, people.

lol this is hilarious. I'm actually surprised though that they would actually boo Lebron. Then again, most people always enjoy FREE food.

I was at a KC Royals game a couple years ago. At the time, Krispy Kreme had a promotion that if the Royals got 12 hits everyone got a free dozen donuts. Starting in the bottom of the 8th, the Royals had 11 hits and the entire crowd started chanting "Do-Nuts! Do-Nuts! Do-Nuts!" It was the funniest thing I'd been in a crowd with until the "Fire Childress!" chants this year....
