08:07 AM ET 05.01 | The Heat is getting to the Knicks. Paramedics were rushed into the Knicks locker room moments after their 104-94 loss to the Heat [Monday] night in Game 2 after Amar'e Stoudemire punched the glass-enclosed fire extinguisher in the hallway leading to the dressing room. Stoudemire received multiple stitches and the Knicks called it a "lacerated" left hand as the Knicks' mess went from bad to unthinkable. ... [Stoudemire tweeted Monday] night, "I am so mad at myself right now, I want to apologize to the fans and my team, not proud of my actions, headed home for a new start." He later tweeted at 2 a.m.: "We all have done thing out of anger that we regret. That makes us human. Bad timing on my part. Sorry guys. This to shall pass."

This is all very hilarious. Presumably for everyone who's not a Knick fan.

Jabberhead Contributing Author It never surprises us how quickly a t-shirt company capitalizes on the goings on in the world of sports. Back in March, “Free Sean Payton” t-shirts popped up all over web a day after Sean Payton was suspended for the season. And now, a day after Amar’e Stoudamire cut his hand punching a fire extinguisher [...] More... |

Amare Stoudemire suffered no ligament or tendon damage after punching a glass case containing a fire extinguisher Monday, but he will not play in Game 3 of the New York Knicks' first-round series against the Miami Heat, a team source told ESPNNewYork.com on Tuesday. The forward saw a hand specialist on Tuesday, the source said, and could still miss more time in the series. Stoudemire punched the case while heading to the Knicks locker room in Miami after a 104-94 loss put New York in a 2-0 hole in the first-round series. Stoudemire was treated by paramedics and team doctors from both the Knicks and the Heat and was seen leaving the arena with his left forearm and hand heavily bandaged and his arm being supported by a sling. He suffered the laceration on the inside of his palm, on the side of his hand closest to the pinkie. Stoudemire addressed the incident via his Twitter account. "I am so mad at myself right now," read a post on Stoudemire's verified account. "I want to apologize to the fans and my team, not proud of my actions. headed home for a new start." A later post read: "We all have done thing out of anger that we regret. That makes us human. Bad timing on my part. Sorry guys. This to shall pass." This is the second straight postseason in which Stoudemire suffered a self-inflicted injury. Last April, Stoudemire pulled a muscle in his back while attempting a dunk in warm-ups prior to Game 2 against the Boston Celtics. He was limited by the injury for the remainder of the series, which the Knicks lost in four straight. |

These excuses why the Knicks won't win an NBA title are getting old. The truth is, even at their healthiest, they weren't going to win the title anyway, they aren't good enough. But now they get to use excuses to explain away their inferiority.
Reminds me of the Celtics excuses. "We would have won but..." But you didn't!! STFUSpurs fans party like it's 1999... when we beat the Knicks! |
