“The loss isn’t too important, it’s more about getting playing time to the young players and getting back into the groove, shake off that rust”. “I was happy with the guys effort and endeavour, obviously there are many things to work on, giving up over 600 total yards is not a positive result”. “Individually, I saw positive signs with Tillman, he showed some great maturity out there…uhhh, Ben (Troupe) has slotted in nicely, and Erik (Coleman) did very well in his limited time”. “We’ll keep working on the plays and formations when we get them out on the track and hopefully the defense will play tighter next week.”

RAIDERS TRANSACTIONS

TRADES/SIGNINGS

The Oakland Raiders have announced today that they have finalised two trades and also aquired 2 players from free agency.

It was reported that 2 year duo RB Calvin Clark and TE Mark Hawk were not happy in Oakland and have been a team distraction throughout the training camp, fusing to play in Oakland's Week 1 preseason loss at San Francisco. Demanding to be traded, the Raiders' top management has been working on a trade that would be in their favour.

Oakland has traded TE Mark Hawk and a round 7 draft pick to Minnesota for a 5th and 6th round draft picks. In the big trade, the Raiders have traded RB Calvin Clark and a 6th round draft pick to Tampa Bay for a 1st round draft pick, a 5th round draft pick and also RG Cody Bates.

Oakland have also signed TE Adrian Mills to a 3 year contract worth $3.33M and RB Jerious Norwood to a 3 year deal worth $3.48M.

With their big feature back now gone (Clark), Oakland will now have to rotate their 3 RB's for the remainder of the season, which could affect their chances of having a successful season.

“It was a scrappy game today but the guys got the job done...Cornell looked good out there in his limited time...gaining more confidence. Jerious did well after just joining the team at the start of the week...and Adrian too, in that score in the 3rd...defense was fairly solid for 3 quarters but let them in in that final quarter...that's something they need to learn...we gotta play four quarters to win games of football.”
