I don't like using the draft as a "Potential earning" indicator, because no one really know much influence this will have. I know there's reports saying he's dropping out, but we won't know until it happens, nor will we know if this played a role in it or if it was his BCS Title game where he looked like he couldn't play against NFL level talent. Plus, we won't know if getting an award would have caused any other player to be drafted higher than he goes now. You'd hope teams would do their own research and base their decisions off more than just awards, but you never know.

I think endorsements are an easier figure to guesstimate, just because the media doesn't necessarily care about straight talent. They want personable players with name recognition who they can throw flashy titles on. Like, "Random DT Number 3, "Rob Meier Great Defensive Tackle Award Recipient."

Unfortunately what he did is not illegal, or even criminal. so he stole some heisman trophy votes or butkus award votes from other players. due to the Supreme Courts ruling on the "Stolen Valor Act" lying for personnel profit is protected by the first amendment. the fact that others are hurt by it doesn't matter at all. we can bitch and moan about it all we want, but what he did is actually protected by the first amendment. we need to just suck it up, and move on.
