It actually got so bad this past season that Spurrier spent a generous part of one of his shows talking about it and telling the students that he was embarrassed by them.
In 2012, ND's ticket prices were $83 a pop for the bigger games (Michigan & Stanford) and $73 a pop for the others.

I can understand Spurrier's point too. I mean, I like to tailgate as much as anyone. But once the game starts, can't the student body at least watch it until the end?

You are preaching to the choir. My first two years in school, SC won 1 game. ONE! But I went to every single home game. I actually had season tickets until I left the state back in '04 and the only time I left a game early was because the game ran long and I had another commitment.

Michigan still has a waiting list for season tickets that is hundreds of names long from what I hear. I've also never seen that, the biggest football stadium, ever less than 95% capacity. In fact, I've been to games against the "crap" teams and still seen it basically full for most of the game. Any Big Ten game is always packed. So no problem for Michigan.

I hear you, Robert. It is my personal policy to never leave a game early, no more the weather or the score.

Ha! Me too. I don't fully remember the opponent, but I think it was Georgia, and I can remember hanging out with my cousin refusing to leave during a massive rainstorm (the teams were taken off the field for a while). We sat in our seats while the lower levels of the stadium flooded a bit. Granted, this was before people started being serious about lighting in large crowds so I'm sure that we would have been forced to leave nowadays. Also, I remember vividly the Clemson/Carolina game in 2003 and I knew then that it was going to be the last one that I would go to for a while because I was planning on moving. And I refused to leave even though we got blown out. I just feel like if I'm gonna spend my money to be there, I'm staying. And my team deserves my support throughout the game, not just when they are winning.

With the economy, and the price of HDTVs being pretty cheap nowadays, it figures that there's a dip in CFB attendance. Just a lot more convenient for most people, really.

3D could be all the rage soon, too. Never been high on 3D, but I figured I'd get a 3DTV since my cable provider got ESPN3D in December. Gotta say, football and other sports look pretty damn awesome in 3D. Pretty neat to see the players and objects in dimensions. Also love the different camera angles that they use. Total game changer.

Georgia had >70 straight sellouts and a waiting list. This year there was one non-sellout. 300 returned visitor's tickets weren't sold. I do think there is a decline in student interest.
