The Drive for Five Begins!

"Congratulations to the Baltimore Ravens as they battled hard and defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 last night in Super Bowl XLVII. We now begin our drive for five as we enter free agency and prepare for the NFL Draft come April. We have a few of our own free agents that we need to make decisions on and it will be a tough job making those decisions but we will do what is best for the organization. There will be plenty of activity during the year cause not only are we building a team to compete for a Super Bowl title but we will be hosting the Super Bowl next year so there is no down time around here.

Super Bowl XLVIII is at MetLife Stadium and we want to be the first host to actually play in the Super Bowl the hosting year so there is some pressure in attempting to make NFL history. I feel that we have a strong core of players but in the same breath we know that we must improve in certain areas of our team to accomplish the ultimate goal of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at years end. We have strong leadership on the field and it all starts with Coach Coughlin who works so many endless nights and truly dedicates himself to this organization, his players and the Tri-State area so I am confident that we will rise to the top of the NFL and make history this year." G.M. Jerry Reese

Cruz Signs New Contract with the Giants!

"I knew in my heart that this deal would get done and I am truly excited to be staying with the New York Giants. This is the only professional team that my grandmother got to see me play for and I would like to keep it that way. I have strong community ties and I only want to increase what I do and now I have the ability to do so.

We have the perfect opportunity to win another Super Bowl here, I mean the pieces are in place, we just need to fight and want it more from the first game to the last and I feel we can do just that. The coaching staff prepares us extremely well so we should flourish." WR-Victor Cruz

"I have truly learned what these players mean to one another this offseason. I was in a meeting with Mr.Mara and Mr.Tisch when we were interrupted by Eli Manning, Justin Tuck and Corey Webster who all asked to have their contracts restructured so that the organization could move forward and sign our free agents. They pleaded their case one by one and the leadership these men displayed did not surprise the three of us sitting across from them but when that day was done we knew the team would be in better shape.

It is a pleasure to announce that Victor Cruz has agreed to a new five year contract worth $21 million with a signing bonus of $4.5 million. Victor has proven that he can be consistent in this league and has become the go to guy when Eli Manning needs a big play. He has a terrific attitude both on and off the field and we look forward in assisting him with his community affairs. Thanks to the restructuring we have been able to contact and began negotiations with nine of our other free agents and will be in great shape come draft day." G.M. Jerry Reese

Secondary is a Primary Concern.

"We are thrilled to announce that SS-Kenny Phillips has agreed to a new four year contract worth $14.8 million including a signing bonus of $2.4 million and that FS-Stevie Brown agreed to a new two year deal worth $1.5 million. Having these two players on the field gives you a sense of security, they play well in any scheme drawn up and not only read the opposing offense well but they react quickly. You clearly saw the difference in our defense when Kenny was healthy and out there. Stevie had a terrific season for us and we look forward to him maintaining that level of play for us as we chase another championship." G.M. Jerry Reese

"Thank you! I mean this is where I want to be, I love the organization from top to bottom and winning the Super Bowl here left me speechless because you can see the passion of our fans and I want to feel that way again. They always said winning in New York is unlike winning anywhere else and they were all right now we have to go out and do it again. It's an honor to wear this uniform and I look forward to a long productive year, injuries are all healed up and I promised Coach Coughlin that I would be one hundred percent all year long, God willing. Man I'm ready to hit the field right now and play, this feels great." SS-Kenny Phillips

"It's hard following a man from "The U" especially during interviews. It is an honor to wear this uniform as Kenny said and I was thrilled that they wanted to keep me around a few more years and I hope to feel that joy that this team felt not too long ago. I'm always ready to go out and line up in any formation our coaches want me to line up in because it what I worked for my entire life. The guys show me their videos of travelling down the Canyon of Heroes and I want my own video one day, the fans, our coaches and the front office deserve that and much more. To any free agent out there, this is the place to be trust me. I'm ready to get this done." FS-Stevie Brown

Speed and Power, Giants Air Attack Continues.

"We have been extremely busy the past few days but we are thrilled to be locking down our key players while keeping others happy. Martellus came in here with an entire different attitude and work ethic and became a focal point of our offense rather quickly and we have rewarded him with a new contract for four years worth $8 million and a signing bonus of $3 million. Ramses flashed what he can do for us at times and has earned more playing time and we see him as a valuable third wideout in this explosive offense. Barden agreed to a new two year contract worth $1.6 million and a signing bonus of $100k and he may take over returning kicks for us but we'll see what happens during camp. Turning the attention to the men of the hour as I have more business to attend to." G.M. Jerry Reese

"Feels good to be staying with the Giants organization and I will continue to grow and become better each year. You know it's crazy lining up with guys like Nicks and Cruz because they demand so much attention that it allows me to do the things I have done and with a great quarterback like Eli Manning we are a dangerous unit so this is exciting. I want a ring, I see these guys walk around here with their Super Bowl rings at times and I want my own, I also feel that this was the best place for me to achieve that goal. We have a chance at something special, a chance to accomplish something historical and just having that chance makes it all worth it so get ready cause I'm here to play harder then last year I promise that." TE-Martellus Bennett

"I share some of the same feelings as Martellus, that chance alone made this deal worth everything and I want to prove that this organization made the correct choice in drafting me. Coach Coughlin told me that I would be stepping into that important third wideout spot and he wants to see what I can achieve playing each and every game. When Coach Coughlin approaches you, you listen cause he is a proven winner and this team is geared to do great things but it is on us not him. He prepares us but we are the ones who perform, we need to stay focused on what he preaches and do it all five minutes earlier then expected. I'm excited and will be working this offseason with Eli so I expect bigger and better things from myself." WR-Ramses Barden

Kicking Game is Secured!

"These moves have been no-brainers for us as an organization and today is no different. There are certain moments in a persons life that are unforgettable and Lawrence Tynes holds two of those special moments for me. The kicks in Green Bay and San Francisco that sent us to Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI have become what legends are made of. Lawrence agreed to a new two year contract worth $2 million and provided a signing bonus of $200k. And the other half of our Dynamic Kicking Duo has been a master at directional punting and has given us great field position ever since he signed here. Steve was signed to a new four year contract worth $3.4 million which provided a signing bonus of $200k. Both men are professional and productive so maintaining their services were a priority for us moving forward." G.M. Jerry Reese

"It's an honor to be spoken about so highly and I hope to add more unforgettable memories for millions of people. Mr.Mara and Mr.Tisch have always operated with class and respect and it is an honor to play for their organization. Mr.Reese has always been pleasant with me and my family and has helped with words of encouragement during my career. This team is a family and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else and when they need me to come through I will give it my all to succeed." K-Lawrence Tynes

"Some time ago I was released and told that I wasn't good enough to be part of their team and I held some animosity towards them but today I say thank you! Because of that moment I signed here with the Giants and learned how it feels to be with a prestigious organization and will never look back. I won a Super Bowl with most of these guys in this locker room and we are family for life so staying here made the most sense for me and I'm glad they felt I was a priority. My emotion at times are on my sleeves for sure, I have a passion for this game, for winning and will do my best for those who are there for me. Lawrence I need another ring, can you boot us to another Super Bowl?" P-Steve Weatherford

The Unbelievable Story Continues!

"What can you say about a man who many including myself said that he was too slow or lacked the physical abilities to be an every day middle linebacker in the NFL but yet sits here today with two Super Bowl rings and helped to right a defense all the way to a second Super Bowl victory in a matter of four years. His passion was undeniable and his willingness to play special teams with the tenacity he did caught our attention and even with all that I allowed him to walk the first time, I will not make the same mistake twice. His ability to read the opposing offense is above impressive, he sets our defense and no one questions him, he is a coach in a players body and no one works harder then he does. It is with great pleasure that we announce that Chase Blackburn has agreed to a new four year contract worth $3.72 million and a signing bonus of $360k to remain with the New York Football Giants." G.M. Jerry Reese

"Thank you sir, today is the accumulation of all my hard work and dedication I have put forth in making others believe in me and my abilities. I was all ready to be a substitute math teacher and tell my stories as I grew older and away from the National Football League but on that one faithful day in December 2011 the New York Giants gave me the call I have been waiting for. Super Bowl XLII was special and in my heart forever, wearing the uniform of the Giants meant and means everything for me and today means that I will retire in this jersey, representing this organization, this city and it's fans. I want to thank Mr.Mara and Mr.Tisch for the opportunity to come back and lead our defense all the way to Super Bowl XLVI. I have two Super Bowl rings but that changes nothing on how I will prepare and condition myself for the upcoming season.

Many of my teammates have stated that we have a chance at making history and this is true but we also have the opportunity to cement this era of New York Giants football as a dynasty. Our focus will be to win our third Super Bowl in six years and what better way to celebrate that accomplishment then to celebrate with our fans in our house, that party may never end. We need to do this for Mr.Mara, Mr.Tisch, Mr.Reese, Coach Coughlin and our coaching staff as they deserve to be recognized for all the countless hours they perform in getting us ready, we succeed because of their dedication. To the fans, no matter if I wear #57 or #93 you guys already know that one hundred percent of myself will be left on the field and I will never quit. Again thank you so very much but we have work to do!" MLB-Chase Blackburn

New York Giants Press Conference

"As you can clearly see, the offensive line was our top priority coming into this draft and we feel comfortable using three of our top four picks to help solidify that unit. Murden, Johnson and Schofield are big athletic linemen who were impressive during their college careers with their ability to pass and run protect but more so with their ability to be moved around and play more then just one position on the line. We feel that if they continue doing the things they did in college that it would grant us the privilege to open our offensive game up and be more creative in play calling. Last year we suffered some injuries to the unit and it never seemed to settle so we are working on a conditioning program designed for them to try and prevent some of the nagging injuries but this is football and they are up front taking punishment every play.

Dixon, Allen, Jackson and Spence have the ability to stand out for us but we'll see how the roster shapes up before the first regular season game. They have an opportunity to come in here, work hard and show Coach Coughlin what they have to offer our team. It is up to them to make the best of this chance because we are looking for depth and agility so that we can continue to rotate our defensive linemen and hopefully keep them fresher come fourth quarters and later on in the year. The next few days we will be monitoring transactions of the other teams as we each try to improve our teams while also listening to any trade discussions they may come across my desk." G.M. Jerry Reese
