The main difference between these two goalies is that Hasek never took a year off playing in the NHL. Thomas has. Plus, Hasek never had a bad season in the NHL, while Thomas in his short playing career has had two sub-par seasons.

Yes, you can view the ages between the players and see that Hasek played well into his forties, but that is with taking no time off (Full season that is) while Thomas has.

I don't know, maybe I am to fixated on the taking the year off thing....
