I'm sorry, but if you really believe that the kids are sitting in their dorm rooms distraught over their coach leaving for another gig then you really need to talk to some student athletes because they aren't the cry babies that you think they are. Every single student athlete in the world knows that coaches take other positions because we are all about personal advancement and bettering yourself in the USA. And not a single athlete will get mad at a coach (that they like) for taking a better job. It is all part of the business.
As for the original point of this thread... Mack Brown whined about something. Who frickin' cares?

so then if you get recruited by Chip Kelley(as an example), and commit to Oregon because he sat at your table and said "i will be there with you for 4 years" and then he leaves, your not expected to be pissed off and be allowed to explore other options(with no penalty).
yes it is all about "personnel advancement" but if a kid is required to give his word, and KEEP IT NO MATTER WHAT, than coaches should be up front and say to a kid "if you come here and play for me, I might not be here all 4 years, is that a problem". since they don't than kids should be allowed to transfer when a coach leaves(FOR ANY REASON) with no penalty.

While I know that the coach is a factor...kids commit to a school, not just the coaches. Also, Kelly had been telling the kids before signing day that if he did leave for the NFL, the head coach would be promoted from within the program. I was told that personally by a recruit that Kelly was going after.

It's the player's life. He needs to go where he wants to go. The only suggestion I have is to have an early signing period as in basketball.
