An interesting perspective on how what a player does early in his career effects our opinion of him. You can read the whole article here: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/...-championships but here's an excerpt.

Thank goodness Brady started his career the way he did otherwise I'd remember this whole Brady/Belichick era as one of many "almost, not quites."
I still kind of do, to be honest.

> Be February 3, 2002
> Erase the illegal hits on Kurt Warner (unnecessary roughness, bitches) > Willie McVaGinest doesn't hold Marshall Faulk in the backfield like a molecular structured cheatin' ass ho-bitch > Brb add five more minutes on that measly clock in that overrated game in the guise of a Super Bowl > Brb the Greatest Show on Turf rallies to win > Brb Tom Brady is a joke Fast forward to the 2002 NFL season, the St. Louis Rams celebrate their two world championships in three years to open that fucker (fucker: 2002-2003 NFL season) and go on with their season. > Brb in the aforementioned '02-'03 season, Warner's thumbs don't fuck up and his head is alright > Brb Linda Warner keeps her ho-ass mouth shut > Brb Faulk says "Hell no!" to the Madden 2003 cover and it's handed to Adam Vinatieri instead, for almost giving the Patsies a Super Bowl XXXVI victory > Brb Madden curse incurred by the Patsies. > Brb the Rams are healthy > Brb the Rams go back to another Super Bowl after beating the shit out of Milla4Prez's (where the fuck is he is in 2013?) Tampa Bay Buccaneers > Brb Kurt Warner tosses seven touchdowns in a game against the aforementioned Bucs and even has a 23 yard touchdown run that sees him stiff-arm Warren Sapp into the end zone > Brb the Rams meet the Raiders in Super Bowl 37 and beat 'em worse than what the Bucs would have. > Brb everybody is jelly as hell, 'specially Phenomenal TJ and all of dem dere Squeelers fans out there. Three titles in four years. Two back to back. Dynasty. The St. Louis Rams then go on to whip the Pats in the next two Super Bowls after beating the Panthers and Eagles (fuck you, Jason Sehorn, in the double OT epic against the Panthers in January 2004), respectively, in the subsequent NFC championship games. Marc Bulger never happens. Scott Linehan never happens. Mike Martz becomes God. The St. Louis Rams are revered as the greatest team of all-time. SOS is still a phaggot, just used to being an uber one after his football team fails. ![]() EDIT: Oh, and Boston sports fan can be happy about one thing in the year 2002 -- >>>> Brb the Boston Celtics whip the New Jersey Nets in the Eastern Conference Finals and go on to sweep the LA Lakers in the NBA Finals to obstruct Philly J, KoME and FatazzShaq and Co. from winning three straight.

I heard it the other day, and it's true. Brady is no longer an elite or even good playoff QB.
Started his career 10-0, and since then is 5-5. Also failed to win the big one a couple times now. |
