McEvoy was a one-time player at South Carolina but was suspended from the football team after being arrested this summer for underage drinking (McEvoy was stopped for speeding in North Carolina, then additionally charged with underage drinking after the police officer smelled alcohol on his breath. A Breathalyzer test did not register high enough to administer a DUI charge). McEvoy subsequently transferred to Arizona Western. In statistics available for seven games this season, McEvoy threw for 1,568 yards on 67 percent passing with 21 touchdowns and three interceptions. Dallas Morning News __________________
