Man accidentally gave bags of cocaine to cop’s kids on Halloween

A British man is facing criminal charges after accidentally handing out bags of cocaine to a police officer's children on Halloween night. The Guardian reports that 23-year-old Donald Junior Green faces sentencing on Monday after confessing to the charge of possessing a Class A drug. He is expected to be released from custody on probation.

"This was an accidental act. It was grossly foolhardy," Green's public defender, Steven Sullivan, told a court in Oldham. "He has been embarrassed by the publicity but does not seek to feel sorry for himself."

Green says he was reaching into his pocket to hand out some Haribo candies that his girlfriend had purchased for Halloween. But instead, he gave the children a pack containing eight "snap bags" of cocaine that he had purchased earlier that same day.

Amazingly, the illegal drug was not noticed at the time by the children's father, off-duty police constable (PC) Simon Fowell.

But when Fowell checked in on his kids (ages five, six and eight) later that evening, he noticed the drugs in their pile of Halloween candy.
Prosecutor Sean Brady told the court that once Green realized what he done, he immediately scoured the neighborhood to find Fowell and his children.

I'm a little disappointed you didn't take this opportunity to post Ed Leslie's greatest moment EVER. So, since you slacked, I'll just have to take over for you.

As lol-worthy as this story is, it still doesn't beat Mr. Brutus Beefcake's finest hour.

In February 2004, Leslie caused an anthrax scare at one of Boston's MBTA stations, Downtown Crossing, where he was working at the time. He had left a bag of cocaine in his booth, which a subway rider spotted and assumed to be anthrax. The building was evacuated as a precaution. Leslie promptly checked into a drug rehabilitation facility after admitting it was his cocaine.

In 2004, he says, he left a white powder aspirin in a tollbooth and it spilled onto another employee’s black sweater. She called police, and the station was closed for fear of anthrax. At the time, MBTA deputy police chief Thomas McCarthy announced that Leslie had admitted cocaine possession and cooperated with police. Leslie wasn’t arrested or charged with any crime, but he was found in violation of the MBTA’s drug policy and was fired.

Leslie tells a different story. ‘‘Do you really think that if I was caught with drugs, they wouldn’t have arrested me? The police are not going to say, ‘It’s OK, Mr. Beefcake, go home with your drugs.’’’

Still he admits entering rehab and says he learned a lot from the process. ‘‘It was a real eye-opener for me to see what effect drugs and alcohol were having on people’s lives,’’ he says
