I mean, I could win every argument I ever engaged in if I wanted to. I just wouldn't cite anything and would make up all sorts of bullshit. You wouldn't be able to dispute it, because there'd be no source to de-credit. But, that defeats the entire purpose of arguing/debating. Plus, I wouldn't get that feeling of satisfaction that you get when you know you just metaphorically smacked some bitch up and put them in their place, when they're unable to argue against the facts you've provided. ![]() (What? Me? Arrogant? Never.

I've only worked retail for one of the largest companies in the country. It's also routinely ranked as one of the top worst to work for in just about every category you can imagine. And I can tell you from 6 years of experience, they're not lying. There's really no reason for a Fortune 200 companies to be fretting over whether a store has 100 hours or 85 hours. Especially when it doesn't pay anyone more than it has to by law. So, I understand where people get the impression that greed is an issue. It IS, plain and simple.
The problem is, no solution brought forward by either side has done anything to stop it. They pass laws that make no difference to corporations and conglomerates that are raking in billions. No, they pass laws and budgets that make it nearly impossible for small businesses to thrive. The cost of starting up a small business today just is not worth it, and that is NOT good. Strong environments for small businesses and start-ups are a cornerstone of healthy economies. The conditions were already harsh before Obamacare, and it's simply made them worse. Being spiteful of people with money helps nothing, either. Sadly, that's really where we are as a country. We have the people without feuding with the people with. Now, we seem to be passing laws out of spite. Most people with money earned it. A very small percentage are born into and an even smaller percentage hoard it. You simply cannot pass laws that cause the innocent to suffer for the wrong-doings of the guilty. The first step is acceptance. As a society and really as a human race, we need to accept two things: 1. Not everyone is equal. Some people are bigger, stronger, and smarter. It's a fact of life. We don't force strong people to stay out of shape because it wouldn't be fair to the others. We don't force smart people to sit in the dark and do nothing with their brain because it wouldn't be fair to the others. We SHOULD NOT penalize people who use their talents to make a lot of money, simply because it's not fair to the others. And that's, essentially, what the democrats and their constituents seem to think is completely OK. You make a lot of money? That's not fair. We deserve some of it, so we're going to tax it away from you. It's complete nonsense. 2. Not everyone will, nor should, they make the same amount of money. Communism demonstrated this perfectly. A HUGE part of why America won the Cold War was innovation. We were always ahead of the Russians because there was incentive for the masses to actually work. It wasn't the government trying to control everything, it was the chaos of the free market producing innovations that a controlled economy has never and will never keep up with. Unfortunately, it seems 52% of this country never read about the Cold War. Once we accept these undeniable truths, we can move forward successfully. If we don't, we're just going to continue down this path of taxing the wealthy until the well dries up and there's no one left to take money from because, why go to school for 6-7 years to get a masters and start-up your own company if, in the end, you're going to pocket the same as a manager of some chain restaurant or you can sponge off the government and live comfortably? |
