What I knew & Thought I knew - December Edition
BY BBSOONER
Jabberhead, SJ Contributing Author What I knew: ~ I knew Oklahoma would play Nebraska in the Big XII CCG and win. Nuff Said! ![]() ~ I knew Florida would not be very good this season. YOU can not lose a player like Tebow and just move forward like he was just another player. And Urban Meyer hopefully will never try the "basketball shot" pass again in a live game. Tebow is gone...so should that play be gone. ~ I knew Arkansas would be a good team. I thought they had a chance of the SEC title, but I never actually predicted they would win it. I think going to a BCS bowl solidifies my thought about Arkansas. ~ I knew Oregon State was overrated and even predicted they would not make a Bowl Game. As it turns out, I was dead right about this one! ~ I knew Boise State was overrated! I think I was about the only person that actually did not ever buy the hype of BSu. Turns out they were overrated! Now Kellen Moore retires from College football as the king of the cupcakes and BSu will likely sink back into oblivion. Nice run BSu, but you will not be missed. ![]() What I thought I knew: ~ I knew Texas would not be great, but not Bowl Eligible? WoW! ~ I thought LSU would have at least 4 losses. I thought they were going to suck. I am ready for a serving of crow now please. This Tiguh squad was just ridiculous. They refused to lose and won a couple they should not have, but at the end of the day, you gotta give credit where credit is due. Congrats on a very nice season LSU. Now go suck an egg Lester Miles! ~ I thought Bama would be playing for a National Championship. They turned out to be just an average team this year. They lost a couple they should have won and they never lived up to their hype. Tough to do and nothing wrong with having an off year, but with that duo at RB, I thought they would be much better. ~ I thought Ohio State would win the Big Ten and represent them in the BCS. I was wrong about this Buckeye team. They were good, but not great! They lost control of their destiny and let Wiscy run away with the bigger piece of the Big Ten pie. ~ I thought Terrell Pryor would win the Heisman. I know they have not announced it yet, but I think Cam Newton raised himself up and took it. Pryor was average this season and should not even get an invite to NYC. Okay, okay, okay! I was wrong about Pryor! There I said it. ~ Rich Rod. Could you not have at least feilded a defense that is of a high school caliber? That is all! In Conclusion: I look forward to the Bowl season and hope my Sooners get the Fiesta Bowl Trophy! Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season. ![]() ~BOOMER~

One of the amazing things about Les Miles and LSU this year is that the Tigers have just 7 touchdown passes for the entire season. In comparison, UCLA, running a pistol offense, has 9.

I did relatively well with my predictions. I have to give a lot of credit to my staff. We hit 7 out of 12, and came within 3 points of hitting two others. (Nebraska and West Virginia). Here is what really surprised me:
1. The demise of the SEC East. I though Florida would edge out Georgia. They did, but not for the title. The SEC East was very weak. 2. UCLA. What a terrible year. 4 wins, and 2-7 in the Pac 10 conference. I thought this team would win 6 games and get to a bowl. 3. Texas. This had to be the biggest surprise of all. I picked OU to win the Big 12 South, and I thought that A&M could be good, but I never expected Texas to go 5-7. What a terrible year. 4. Oklahoma State. I did not think that this team would win 6 games. I was shocked that they played so well. 5. Michigan State. I thought they were an 8 win team. I did not expect them to be so good. 6. Stanford. I knew they would be good, but a one loss #4 team? I did not expect that.

Boomer, if OU can not win this Fiesta Bowl, there had better be an investigation. They are -18 now at some books. They were only -7.5 against Boise State.

I thought the Buckeyes would go undefeated. I was wrong.
I thought Oregon would lose at least one game in the Pac 10. I was wrong. I didn't have Auburn anywhere in the mix for the SEC championship. Wrong again. I thought Boise State would breeze through its schedule. Wrong And I think everyone but NYSR was wrong about Texas. He said from the beginning of the year that the Horns were overrated and not a good team at all. He was right.
