Short explanations for top 10 picks.
Panthers 1. Cam Newton Carolina thought they got extremely lucky when Jimmy Clausen, a projected 1st round pick, fell to them in the second. It turns out that they were actually unlucky, because soon after they found out they wasted a 2nd round pick. They ended up taking Tony Pike, who did nothing, and taking fan favorite Armanti Edwards, who was QB but was moved to receiver. After all these disappointing picks it would make sense to taking Heisman winning QB Cam Newton out of national title winning Auburn Tigers. Broncos 2. Marcell Dareus Denver struggled at the defensive line last year. They have some of the best LB's in the league (Williams, Dumeral) but it still isn't enough. They have everything at defense besides a good defensive line, which is why Dareus would be a smart and safe pick here. Bills 3. Von Miller Miller's draft stock has been going up in bunches over the last month, and theres a good reason why. He's the best linebacker in this years draft, and after wasting first round pick on Aaron Maybin, the Bills need to improve on their defense, so this would be a great pick. Bengals 4. AJ Green With Palmer and T O most likely gone, and Ochocinco going to play soccer, the Bengals need to improve their defense. AJ Green would be a smart pick here after losing two elite WR's. Green would match up nicely with Shipley and Caldwell, the most likely new starting receivers in the Bengals offense. Cardinals 5. Blaine Gabbert What can we say about the Cardinals QB situation? You got Derek Anderson, who likes to throw to picks, Max Hall, where his only highlight was beating the Saints (where they didn't even have an offensive TD) and John Skelton, who is the only one that showed he might have some skill. But Skelton isn't enough, the Cardinals need a QB, and the best available is Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert. Browns 6. Nick Fairley The Browns need another defensive linemen, after releasing trouble maker Shaun Rodgers. The Browns have Rubin, or led all defensive linemen with 80 tackles. But it isn't enough. Fairley was thought to be the first pick after saying he was coming in the draft, but his stick went down. This is a boom or bust pick right here for Cleveland. 49ers 7. Patrick Peterson The best player in the draft could sure help out this struggling San Fransisco defense. The 49ers need another defensive star to line up with Willis, and Peterson is sure to do that. This is by far the safest pick in the draft and would be a smart one for San Fran. Titans 8. Prince Amukamara The Titans would love for Prince to lineup with Finnegan in the secondary. They are in need of another CB, and with Peterson gone, this would be their best choice. Dallas 9. Tyron Smith Jerry Jones usually doesn't take offensive linemen, but after seeing this big guys highlights at USC, I think he'll come around. Redskins 10. Mark Ingram The Redskins need to improve at RB sense Portis lost his touch and Torain is their best RB after that, taking this former Heisman winner wouldn't be a bad idea. Texans 11. Robert Quinn Vikings 12. Brandon Harris Lions 13. Nate Solder Rams 14. Julio Jones Miami 15. Da'quan Bowers Jaguars 16. Aldon Smith Patriots 17. J.J Watt Chargers 18. Ryan Kerrigan Giants 19. Akeem Ayers Buccaneers 20. Adrian Claybourn Chiefs 21. Gabe Carimi Colts 22. Mike Pouncey Eagles 23. Antony Castonzo Saints 24. Muhammad Wilkerson Seahawks 25. Derek Sherrod Ravens 26. Torrey Smith Falcons 27. Aaron Williams Patriots 28. Mikel Lesoure Bears 29. Cameron Jordan Jets 30. Stephen Paea Steelers 31. Ryan Williams Packers 32. Cameron Heyward I think Jordan is gonna fall, I just feel like his stock is gonna fall. My first mock draft, tell me what you think. Posted Image |

I hope San Diego doesn't take Kerrigan over Jordan.
I like that you have Paea sneaking into the first round. I have him in the bottom of the first, but I sent him to the Bears to replace Tommie Harris.

That he is...the guy can ball, he just isn't as hyped as some of the other DTs in the class. Besides for his obvious strength, he's also durable. He never missed a game at Oregon State.

Interesting to know he never missed a game, too many defensive players get hurt.

I've got Paea at the top of the second in mine, wanted to squeeze him in but ultimately went another direction. And I'd have to agree with TH, don't think the Chargers would go with Kerrigan (just don't think he's a good fit for their scheme).
But other than that, it's looking real good!
