Music Top 5 Songs

Here's a game I tried before but with slightly different parameters. Gonna narrow it down to just songs now.

Anyone who's seen or read High Fidelity will get the basic premise. So name a category and the person after you will have to name their top 5 in that category and then name a new category. Discussion is welcome, as well as videos. Also, don't hesitate to post a category that's already been done, since someone else can do it.

ex:
Top 5 breakup songs.

answer:

5. Tragically Hip - Boots or Hearts
4. Pearl Jam - Black
3. Lael Alderman - Cigarette
2. Jeff Buckley - Last Goodbye
1. Beatles - Yesterday

So who's going to start?

Category: Top 5 Covers

5. Proud Mary - Ike and Tina Turner - Not better than the CCR original version, but just as good.

4. Mad World - Gary Jules - Not a fan of the movie, Donnie Darko, but Jules' version of this song is better than the Tears for Fears release.

3. This Magic Moment - Jay and the Americans - This version is one of my all time favorite songs, period.

2. All Along the Watchtower - Jimmy Hendrix - I almost like the version that Bear McCreary did for Battlestar Galactica as much.

1. Hurt - Johnny Cash - Better than the original. Not up for debate.

Next category - Top Five songs by "all girl" band.

I took this to mean bands that are made up of only women and play their all of their own instruments, which I THINK all of these bands do, but it gets rid of a lot of great girl vocal groups from the 60's and 70's, and keeps lots of bands with a woman lead singer out of the running.

5. Indigo Girls - Galileo

4.The Go Gos - We Got the Beat

3. Cibo Matto - Spoon

2. Bangles - Eternal Flame

1. The Runaways - Cherry Bomb

Next Category: Top 5 songs written for a motion picture.

Man, that's one of my all-time favorites, too. Part of the reason is that Jay Black is one of the all-time great singers. Last I heard, he was still performing this song and others at the age of 65+.
