Tigers in 1st, but heat on Leyland, again, in second half

08:08 AM ET 07.11 | While fans baked in Sunday's first-half finale and Jim Leyland turned up the heat on Brandon Inge, the manager himself will begin to feel the temperature rising. He won't want to talk about it. He likely will chew off the head of the first reporter who asks The Question, but there's no escaping The Facts. To paraphrase from the Book of Rasheed: Fall Don't Lie. Semantically frame it anyway you wish -- an unforgivable choke or simply cruel misfortune -- the Tigers have been an unmitigated disaster in the second half under Leyland since he took the helm in 2006. It has become a familiar pattern. Assume the Central Division lead in the first half. Watch it leak through the bottom in the second half. Detroit Free Press

I really do not think the Tigers have the pitching to get them past the first round, and I predict Leyland is gone after this season.
